World of Wrong

When you miss him with a vengeance like I did, the world is apt to go dark from time to time.
Sometimes it’s when everything hurts us, and sometimes it’s when everything’s fine.
It’s wearing rose-tinted blinders because it feels right in a world of wrong.
It’s singing Livin’ On A Prayer instead of his old favorite swan song.
We were wild in our souls and minds, but our heartbeats kept each other slow.
It was always one of us raring to run, but the other wishing we wouldn’t go.
And when he can’t find the best of himself, I shine a light back to make him see.
Because there’s not a person on this Earth who gets me like he gets me.
So when you miss him with a vengeance like I did, don’t pretend it’s all glittering gold
Let the darkness learn your heartbeats, and agree to lose control.
